About the Artist
Woo Yongmin is a Korean ink painting (hanguk-hwa) artist who has expanded the possibilities of ink wash through contemporary sensibility. He has held numerous solo exhibitions at venues including Haengchon Museum of Art (Haenam), Inyoung Gallery, Gallery Mua, Doin Museum of Art, and the Artist Center—presenting series such as 〈Duryun〉 (2020), 〈Tangjin Sumuk (Squandered Ink)〉 (2019), 〈Birch Trees of Inje〉 (2024), 〈Permano〉 (2023), and 〈Sumuk: Four Gentlemen〉 (2025). He has actively participated in international biennales and curated exhibitions, including the Jeonnam International Sumuk Biennale, the Pungryu Namdo Art Project, and the Whanki Art Festival. His monographs Duryun (Hexagon, 2020) and Jiri (Hexagon, 2025) have been published. His works are held in collections at the Haengchon Museum of Art, the Jeonnam Museum of Art, and Gallery Northbruga in Austria.
